Description
Ken Sturley grew up in Vancouver and joined the Canadian Army in 1944, at the age of 17, as a boy soldier. In 1952, he was sent to Germany to replace the occupation forces and stayed in the army for 35 years, serving in Germany, the United States and Canada. He now lives with his family in Ottawa. As a much-loved volunteer, “Grandpa Ken” goes into the Ottawa schools to participate in the Early Literacy Program and share his love of reading with kindergarten children.
This story was told many times to his own grand-daughter. As the first in a series of “Grandpa’s Stories,” it is a simple and heart-warming tale that conveys the wonder and magic of Christmas through the eyes of a child.
