“An Insider’s Guide to Canada’s Capital” is a visual guidebook into Canada’s National Capital Region (NCR) with a hyper focus on the city of Ottawa. It was produced by the millennial team behind the multimedia company called Wingd.
The goal of the book is to take every reader on a photographic journey through Ottawa, as well as showcase creativity, talent and youth collaboration. It is divided into two parts with the first part highlighting several travel styles to experience the NCR, some of which include exploring historical spots & monuments, participating in adventurous activities, embracing natural landscapes, and exploring the city through its food and cultural scene. On the other hand, the second part focuses on meeting a subset of people that live in Ottawa, by showcasing them through photographs and short interviews/narratives.
In addition, the book opens with a foreword from the Mayor of Ottawa, Jim Watson, and concludes with an afterword by the Minister of Small Business & Tourism, Honourable Bardish Chagger. Featured in the book is also a plan for the future of the Capital provided by the National Capital Commission / Commission de la capitale nationale (NCC/CCN).
