Description
Days before America was drawn into the Second World War, a U.S. destroyer creeps into a bay of an isolated island in French Polynesia. They soon discover a mystery, which affects those men for the rest of their lives. The recovery of six priceless Polynesian Black Pearls sets the scene which years later draws Harry Forbes to Polynesia after he inherits his uncles ketch, the South Mist, after his uncle’s murder. There he meets Kalua Young, an archaeologist who is working on a dig site on Easter Island. With her two assistants Michael and Georgina Small they discover that not only are they researching a lost civilization and a culture that carved giant stone heads, but a mystery dating back to the Second World War and before in the Mystery of the Lost Treasury of Easter Island.
