Beau and Bonnie are in for a great many surprises when they encounter unfamiliar creatures in the north-woods. Sometimes the animals are amusing and funny, and the children enjoy them. But occasionally their habits conflict with those of people, and that becomes a challenge. Gradually Beau and Bonnie come to appreciate and respect the creatures that share their natural environment.
