Michelle Crichton was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario Canada. Her family background originated from the Caribbean. While growing up in Ottawa, Michelle began writing poetry at a very young age and her first publication “Always Be Who You Are” was featured in the National Library of Poetry for North America in 1998. She attended the University of Ottawa and holds a Bachelors Degree in General Arts and a second degree in Education. Michelle started working at the age of 17 and since then, she has acquired much experience with respect to workplace issues and bullying. Growing up, she faced challenges of fitting into a very “Type A”, competitive city when it came to employment and has acquired much experience in this area. As a very justice-oriented individual, Michelle enjoys being involved with various social causes and creating awareness about the ongoing workplace issues that many people encounter.
